App That Does ‘Nothing’ Skyrockets in Popularity, Makes $2 Million in App Store

SAN FRANCISCO – A new app is making big waves, the only catch is that it doesn’t actually do anything. The app, simply titled “Nothing,” costs $4.99 in Apple’s App Store. It displays the word nothing in text on a white screen. Users can then change the color of the text to one of four unique colors.

App That Does ‘Nothing’ Skyrockets in Popularity, Makes $2 Million in App Store

Despite having no actual utility, users seem happy to spend the requisite money for an app that does nothing. So far, the app has made $2 million.

Sven Karlsson, a Swedish transplant living in San Francisco, conceived the app. He was inspired by similar apps that were very profitable without providing any actual value to users. One such app is Yo, which simply sends a notification message that says, “yo” to users. The app raised $1.2 million and is currently the fifth most popular free app in the App Store.

Washboard, another app, pays out $20 in quarters for laundry – all for the price of $26.99.
“When I saw how much money Yo was able to raise, I realized that most people are incredibly stupid and can be manipulated into buying anything. I may have lost my faith in humanity, but at least I’ll be extremely rich,” said Karlsson in an interview.

“Like Domino’s Pizza in the mid-2000’s, I wanted to test the limits of what humans were willing to buy. It turns out they will literally pay for the privilege of getting nothing, and they’ll do it very happily, I might add. As of right now my app has a five-star rating—much to my dismay.”

Info about our constellation

The satellite constellation will consist of 135 LEO satellites on circular orbit, at 370 miles [600 km] altitude. They will cover the entire planet’s surface.
One of the most important points about our satellites is they should be fairly light and small enough to be stacked in one large rocket such as Falcon Heavy. We’re designing them exactly that way - to do just one launch. This will cut initial funding required to create an infrastructure, so we’ll be able to provide cheaper services.

QR Code Generator

A QR code (abbreviated from Quick Response code) is a type of matrix barcode (or two-dimensional code) first designed for the automotive industry. More recently, the system has become popular outside of industry due to its fast readability and comparatively large storage capacity. The code consists of black modules arranged in a square pattern on a white background. The information encoded can be made up of any kind of data (e.g. binary, alphanumeric, or Kanji symbols)[1]. Created by Toyota subsidiary Denso Wave in 1994, the QR code is one of the most popular types of two-dimensional barcodes. The QR code was designed to allow its contents to be decoded at high speed.[2] The technology has seen frequent use in Japan and South Korea; the United Kingdom is the seventh-largest national consumer of QR codes.[3
